Close-out [1]
The close-out standards emphasize the importance of accountability and cross-disciplinary collaboration as projects come to an end. Responsible project close-out is fundamental to CRS’ commitment to subsidiarity, stewardship, and accountability—to partners, the people we serve, and donors.
Close-out, like start-up, is a demanding process requiring careful planning. In addition to cross-disciplinary planning, the close-out project management standards highlight the need for appropriate close-out staffing, consolidation of efforts to promote sustainability, and learning and leveraging as we, partners, beneficiaries, and others reflect on the project’s impact and management.
Download the After-action review guidance for the CRS project cycle [2] to reflect on achievement against the project management standards at the end of the close-out phase.
